Green Chile Stew

The Main Ingredient is a "10"! Wonderfully charming home feel, the patio is a peaceful respite from busy life to hang out and dine. The staff is warm and friendly. Menu picks are something for every taste type- delightful! (The green chili is a spicy delicious favorite!) And MI has a great selection of beer and wine. A must try. ( and keep coming back with friends😉)

The Acapulco Cheesesteak

When people tell you they know the best "whatever" in town, most others are usually sceptical, because obviously that's a pretty high bar. However I have said this many times to friends and even hyped it further and I have NEVER been let down by this sandwich. It's perfectly balanced and the flavor is incredible. I could go on..but like I tell my friends, "just try it - you'll see."

I had a delightful lunch with Shaia (grilled cheese) and Carol (hummus plate) last weekend at The Main Ingredient Ale House and Cafe in Phoenix. The setting and atmosphere are wonderful, the service is friendly, the owner (Don) was there with his puppy (Bruno), and the food is delicious...not your everyday fare. We will definitely be going again! Check them out!

The Veg

We are from Chicago and we were visiting our son who lives just a few blocks away. He frequents The Main Ingredient and took us there for lunch. My sandwich was delicious, the service was friendly and prompt and the atmosphere was very inviting. I also had the fresh brewed iced tea which was very good and I am very picky about my iced tea. We sat in the outdoor garden on a beautiful day.

Green Chile Stew

This was the first thing I ever ordered here, and it made me a fan for life. May have even been a contributing factor to our decision to buy a house in Coronado - yes, it's THAT good. Great tomatillo flavor, just the right amount of spice - still one of my faves!

Green Chile Stew

This place is great! The patio is so relaxing, the menu offers a very solid selection of food and beers, and the prices are reasonable. My first choice for happy hour.

The Acapulco Cheesesteak

Get this sandwich every single time I come here. It's amazing! Great thin-cut steak, sweet red peppers, then a little kick from the chipotle mayo.

Courtney's Cobb

Courtney's Cobb salad is one of the best salads in the Valley. Pair it with an Ace cider and it's one of the best meals in the Valley! Also, the artwork on the walls is fabulous.

The main ingredient is seriously our favorite spot, we have been coming here weekly for the last two years since moving into the neighborhood and I can't say enough good stuff about this place. The food is always so good I have turned so many people onto the BLT here because I am always shocked at how a basic sandwich can be so amazing. The service is always the best, we love everyone there and have never had a single bad interaction or off experience in the dozens of times we've been. We love the monthly cookouts and specials and the ipa of the month. It's seriously become such a staple hangout and I can't imagine moving further than walking distance away.

Probably the best BLT in the neighborhood, the bacon is always good and thick and the secret weapon is how much of a bite that red onion gives you. Bonus for having one of the better chill-out winter patios in central phx as well!

When I visit my son, we always come to sit, play games, eat , and drink. Thanks for being his local hangout!

The Jive Turkey

My girlfriend and I recently moved into the Coronado historical neighborhood and were so excited when we found this spot. I had heard about it from down town Phoenix locals before, but I didn't expect to be living right next to it. The place has such a happy and welcoming energy about it. It really feels like you are having a drink and a meal at a friends house. Except the food is way better than what any of my friends can produce. I had the Jive Turkey sandwich on my first visit and it was phenomenal, the Jalapeno cream cheese is a must. I will be back soon!!!
